Winter Travel during SHTF
A dreary day here in the north northeast as three inches of rain have fallen today. I was driving back to the farm when it hit me: Even in a semi-SHTF, such as localized financial crises, etc, who is going to plow the roads? Nevermind a major SHTF. Always thought about good weather travel (bike, shank's mare, etc), but I just realized that even with a 4x4 truck, I am SOL in a typical NE winter if the snow accumulates without removal. I've always hated snowmobiles, but now I'm thinking hmmmmmmm....

Re: Winter Travel during SHTF
plow the road? who cares. if you can get out of your driveway, you shouldnt have any problem with the ROAD.
In the old days, before everyone had four wheel drive, TIRE chains were a commonly used traction aid. |
Re: Winter Travel during SHTF
Aren't you afraid of zombies banging on your car windows? That seems more problematic than the snow.
